Well, woke up this morning (at least, I think it's morning) to find ourselves still in this castle, floating around in this gray nothingness. None of us seem to have suffered from the gate's explosion, and the castle has stopped trembling. Now that he's had some time to recover from the shock, Thibor seems to be coping with his semi-legless state as best he can. We helped him carve a prosthesis from wood, and we are confident that, assuming that we ever land anywhere, we have enough money to pay for a regeneration spell.
I have to give Thibor a lot of credit. He might have gone a little crazy at first (And who could blame him? Even Demetrius has forgiven him completely.), but he's taking this disaster really well. I don't know if I could cope with losing a limb so easily.
We're all hoping to land soon. Things are getting really dull around here. We've explored this stupid castle from top to bottom a hundred times. Thibor prays all the time, and Alanna spends all her time trying to figure out what to do with that stupid rock. At lunch she pointed out that when squeezed it's soft, like clay. Fascinating, truly fascinating.
Left to our own devices, Demetrius and I have been spending our time drinking and playing cards. I've been beating his pants off. This morning alone I won 300 gold pieces from him. The man simply doesn't know how to gamble. I think he's getting a little discouraged, though, so maybe I'll let him win a few hands later. Wouldn't want him to give up -- then there wouldn't be anything to do.
In addition to being bored out of our minds, there's the small problem that our food will run out in a few days. Now wouldn't that be a bummer?

This morning, while Demetrius and I were playing cards, Alanna wandered into the room and threw her magic rock up against the wall. We thought she'd just gotten disgusted with it. But suddenly it started making noises, as of people whispering.
"What the Hell?" said Demetrius.
Alanna turned and smiled at us. "I figured out what the rock does!"
Demetrius and I stared at each other. We couldn't think of anything that could possibly be more useless. What self-respecting wizard would waste his talents creating a noisy rock?
"Uh, that's real nice, Alanna," I said.
"It makes lots of different noises," she explained. Then, feeling compelled to demonstrate, she grabbed the rock and threw it against the wall again.
This time the buzzing of bees filled the room. Hundreds of angry bees, and the noise was growing louder every minute. I could just picture a swarm of the creatures coming after us.
I looked around nervously. "Um, Alanna, are you sure that thing just makes noises? It doesn't, you know, summon things?"
Alanna shook her head. "No. At least, I don't think so. I've only just started experimenting with it."
"Right. Demetrius, let's go dice in one of the other rooms. This castle's got enough of them."
And so we left to gamble elsewhere. We passed a very confused Thibor, who looked up from his prayers wondering why we were running through this empty castle so fast.
Wizards really are a strange lot.

Thibor finally emerged from his prayers today. He seems in better spirits (well, for Thibor anyway) and is learning to use his new leg. Hopefully, he won't have to put up with it for long.
Having nothing better to do, we spent the day playing with the giant ship. Didn't find much of interest inside it. Finally, we decided to try our hands at the wheel. It took all four of us together, but we managed to turn it. And the great ship began moving, sailing slowly away from Skytumble Tor and into the greyness.
We considered steering it, but what's the point? We don't know where to go. So we're just letting it coast along and keeping watches.
